Statement : Let E1, E2, .........., En are mutually exclusive and exhaustive events or a random experiment with P(Ei) ≠ 0 for i = 1, 2, 3, .........., n.

Then for any event A or the random experiment with P(A) ≠ 0

Proof : Given that P(Ei) > 0 for i = 1,2, ...., n

By hypothesis i ≠ j
