Best answer

Coefficient of volume expansion of glycerin, αV = 5 × 10–4 K–1

Rise in temperature, Δ= 40°C

Fractional change in its volume = ΔV/V

This change is related with the change in temperature as:

Where,

m = Mass of glycerine

= Initial density at T1

= Final density at T2

Where

T1 – ρT) / ρT2  =  Fractional change in density

∴Fractional change in the density of glycerin =  5×10−4×40 = 2×10−2 = 0.02
