The Y.M.C.A. pool was safe as it was only three feet deep at the shallow end; and nine feet deep at the other end. But its drop was gradual. One could easily learn swimming in this pool at Y.M.C.A. Therefore, in order to learn swimming he decided to join Y.M.C.A. pool.
