Copper Sulfate does not exist as hydrate
by (2.8k points)
Is that because Cu can't form a hydride?
by (63.2k points)
This is because the physical geometry of the crystalline lattice does not permit four or six water molecules to associate with one copper sulfate molecule. Number of water molecules in hydrate is usually in integer.
