Modern civilization depends upon machines for almost all of its where as,the ancient civilization there were no machines. Order and safety is an important achievenent of the modern civilization where as the ancient civilizition suffered from the fear of war and violence. Another difference we see is that whereas the ancient civilization had to suffer and bear pain due to illness people of modern civilization are almost free from the tear of pain.
