Two blankets enclose a layer of air between then. Air being a bad conductor of heat reduces the thermal conductivity of the blankets considerably. Thus, the layers of air between two blankets allow comparatively less amount of body heat to flow out than single blankets. Hence. tow blankets appear warmer than a single blankets.
