If α and β are the roots of the equation 2x2 − 3x − 6 = 0, then equation whose roots are α2 + 2, β2 + 2 is

(A)  4x2 + 49x + 118 = 0

(B)  4x2 − 49x + 118 = 0

(C)  4x2 − 49x − 118 = 0

Correct option   (B) 4x2 − 49x + 118 = 0

Therefore, the equation is

x2 - (49/4)x + 118/4 = 0

⇒ 4x2 − 49x + 118 = 0
