For the first ball

OC = vx = 1 ms-1,

OE = vy = √3 ms-1

Resultant of vx and vy is given by OA

OA = √(vx2 + vy2) = √(1 + 3) = 2 ms-1

Let the resultant makes an angle α with x-axis

Resultant of v'x and v'y is given by OB

Let the resultant makes an angle α' with x-axis.

Thus, tan α' = BD/OD = 2/2 = 1 or, α' = 45°

The angle between the paths of two balls

 α' -  α' = 60°- 45° = 15°.
