Here, g = 9.8 ms-2. When stone of mass 0.1 kg is dropped from the window of a stationary train, the net force acting on it just after it is dropped, will be

F = weight of stone = Mg = 0.1 x 9.8 N

= 0.98 N (vertically downward)
