Let A, B and C be the points (2, 3), (2, 0) and (8/13,12/13), respectively

Let the foot D of perpendicular AD to BC divides BC in the ratio λ:(1 − λ). Then the coordinates of D are given as follows:

That is, λ = 1. Therefore, the coordinates of D are

(8/13,12/13)
