Elements Compounds
(i) They are made up of only one kind of atoms. (i) They are made up of two or more kinds of elements.
(ii) They do not decompose to form simpler substance. (ii) They decompose to form simpler substance.
(iii) Elements cannot be created by chemical reaction however they can be synthetically prepared by artificial transmutation. (iii) Compounds can be prepared by chemical reactions.
(iv) The number of elements are 115 till date. (iv) There are innumerable number of compounds which are formed from elements.
