For binomial distribution,

mean = nP = 12 and variance = npq = 3

12q = 3

q = 1/4

∴ P = 1 - q = 1 - (1/4) = 3/4

and n.p = 12

n.(3/4) = 12

n = 16

∴ Binomial distribution is

(P + q)n = ((3/4) + (1/4))16
