The closed loop (PQRS) of wire is moved out of a uniform magnetic field at right angles to the plane of the paper as shown in the figure. Predict the direction of the induced current in the loop.

From the given figure, it is clear that the magnetic flux decreases. By Lenz’s law, the induced current opposes the change in flux by producing the magnetic field in the same direction as the external magnetic field. By right hand thumb rule, the induced current will flow in a clockwise direction. i.e., PQRSP.
