Solve the L.P.P. graphically 

Maximize z = 6x + 8y 

Subject to constraints 

4x + 2y ≤ 20, 2x + 5y ≤ 24, y ≥ x.

4x + 2y = 20 2x + 2y = 24
Put x = 0 Put x = 0 Put x = 0 Put x = 0
4x + 2y = 20 4x + 2y = 20 2x + 5y = 24 2x + 5y = 24
4(0) + 2y = 20 4x + 2(0) = 20 2(0) + 5y = 24 2x + 5(0) = 24
0 + 2y = 20 4x + 20 = 20 0 + 5y = 24 2x + 6(0) = 24
y = 20/2 x = 20/4 = 5 y = 24/5 = 4.8 x = 24/2
(0, 10) (5, 0) (0, 4, 8) (12, 0)

2x = 6.5 

x = 3.25 

Point of intersection (3.25, 3.5)
