A school wants to award to award its students for the values of leadership, good behavior and hard work with a total cash award of Rs. 6,000. Three times the award money for hard work added to that given for leadership amounts to 11,000. The award money for leadership and hard work together is double the one given for good behavior. Calculate the award money given for each value, using matrix method.

Let the values of punctuality, good be havior and hard work be denoted by x,y & z respectively 

x + y + z = 6000 

x + oy + 3z = 11,000

x + z = 2y or x – 2y + z = 0 

The given equations in matrix form is 

Ax = B ⇒ X = A^-1B

X = Rs. 500, y = Rs. 2000, z = Rs. 3500.
