Carbon monoxide reacts with haemoglobin to form caboxy-haemoglogin which is 300 times more stable than oxy-haemoglobin complex. In blood, when concentration of carboxy-haemoglobin is about 3-4%, the oxygen carrying capacity of blood is greatly reduced. This oxygen deficiency, results into headache. Weak eye sight nervousness and cardiovascular disorder.
