Given numbers are 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4

Total number of possible outcomes = 10

\(\frac{30}{10}\)

= 3

Now, let E be the event of getting 3.

Number of favourable outcomes = 3 {3, 3, 3}

P(E) = Number of favourable outcomes/ Total number of outcomes

P(E) = 3/10

Therefore, the probability that a number selected at random will be the average is 3/10.
