Hie National income is not a reliable index of economic welfare because of the following reasons.
(a) Inequality in the distribution of income.
(b) Existence of non-monetary exchanges.
(c) GDP does not consider whether the goods produced are useful or harmful.
(d) GDP does not consider the manner of production.
