Arranging the circuit:

This circuit follows a Wheatstone bridge so arm cd does not work.

Adding resistances of path acb in series
R2 = R + R = 2R
Adding resistances of path adb in series
R2 = R + R = 2R
Adding R1 and R2 in parallel
\(R^{\prime}=\frac{R_{1} \times R_{2}}{R_{1}+R_{2}}=\frac{2 R \times 2 R}{4 R}=R \Omega\)
