In right △ABC, the lengths of the legs are given. Find the length of the hypotenuse

a = 3 cm, b = 4 cm

According to the Pythagoras theorem, we have

(Hypotenuse)2 = (Base)2 + (Height)2

Let c be hypotenuse and a and b be other two legs of right angled triangle

Then we have

c2 = a2 + b2

c2 = 32 + 42

c= 9 + 16 = 25

c = 5 cm
