Kudmul Ranga Rao led a social reform movement for the upliftment of the Harijans. He actively worked for the education of the Harijans. He actively worked for the education of the Harijan girls and removal of untouchability. While in Mangaluru, Gandhiji saw the social activities of Kudmul Ranga Rao and appreciated them.
