x/2 – y/9 = 6

x/7 + y/3 = 5

Simplify both the equations:

9x – 2y = 108 ………..(1)

3x + 7y = 105 …………(2)

Let us use elimination method to solve the given system of equations.

Multiply (2) by 3. And subtract both the equations.

From (1); 9x – 2(9) = 108

x = 14

Answer: x = 14 and y = 9
