Best answer

Percentage of iron = \(\frac{3.438}{10}\) × 100 = 34.38%
Percentage of Chlorine = \(\frac{6.65}{10}\) × 100 = 66.5%

Element % Atomic mass Relative ratio Simplest ratio
Fe 34.38 55.8 34.38/55.8 = 0.6 0.6/0.6 = 1
Cl 66.5 35.5 66.5/35.5 = 1.8 1.8/0.6 = 3

Thus, the empirical formula of iron chloride is FeCl3
