Why are budding, fragmentation, and regeneration all considered as asexual types of reproduction? With neat diagrams explain the process of regeneration in Planaria.

In Budding, fragmentation and regeneration only a single parent is involved and there are no formation of gametes hence they are considered as asexual types of reproduction.

  • Here the body of planaria cut into pieces and each piece has the ability to grow into new organism. 
  • In the figure above planaria body is cut into 3 pieces which regenerates into 3 individual cells.
