  • Quantasomes are particles found in the thylakoid membrane of chloroplasts in which photosynthesis takes place.
  • They are embedded in a paracrystalline array on the surface of thylakoid discs in chloroplasts. 
  • For this reason they are considered to be photosynthetic units
