Mirage is created by the heat of the sand. A depression in the sand looks like a splash of water, a freak, stunted cactus gives the appearance of a grove, and a camel looks like a huge pre-historic animal on the move.
मरीचिका गर्म रेत से निर्मित होती है। रेत में बना कोई भी गड्ढा पानी का आभास कराता था, छोटे-छोटे नागफनी के पौधे पेड़ों के कुंज की तरह लगते थे और ऊँट विशाल प्रागैतिहासिक काल के चलते हुए जानवर जैसा प्रतीत होता था।
