Sophie liked her brother Geoff more than any other person because she trusted him. Her brother Geoff was always the first to share her secrets. He listened to Sophie’s fantasies and her long-cherished dreams patiently. Little Derek made fun of her, so she did not share her secrets with him. From Sophie’s perspective, Geoff was a symbol of all that she wanted to see feel and experience. He symbolised all those places she wanted to see. Sophie wished that someday he might take her with him to show her unknown and unseen places and people. She dreamt that she was riding there behind Geoff. He wore new shining black leathers and her, a yellow dress with a kind of cape that flew out behind.
