A Flood Scene
In the month of September 2014, there was heavy rainfall in the mountains of Kashmir Valley. The river Jhelum and Chenab were in spate. The entire Kashmir Valley and populated “part of Jammu were submerged in water. Huge buildings and other costly hotels crumbled down. There was much loss of life and property. The Indian Army and other social workers rescued drowning people. Still, many people lost their lives. Rapid relief work checked to spread of epidemics after floods. People throughout the country sympathized with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
वर्ष 2014 के सितम्बर मास में कश्मीर घाटी के पहाड़ों पर बड़ी भारी वर्षा हुई। झेलम और चिनाब नदियों में बाढ़ आई। समस्त कश्मीर घाटी और जम्मू की कुछ भाग पानी में डूब गया। विशाल इमारतें और दूसरे कीमती होटल टूट-टूट करे गिर गये। प्राणों की और ज्यादादों को भारी नुकसान हुआ। भारतीय सेना और दूसरे सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं ने डूबते लोगों को बचाया फिर भी बहुत से लोगों की जान चली गई। तत्काल व त्वरित राहत कार्य द्वारा बाढ़ के बाद महामारी के फैलने को रोका गया। पूरे देश के लोगों ने जम्मू और कश्मीर के लोगों के प्रति सहानुभूति व्यक्त की।
