Ajmer, August 15
The country’s Seventieth Independence Day was celebrated at a Grand Function held at Patel Maidan, Ajmer. Many dignitaries graced the occasion, and the state’s home minister was the chief guest at the occasion. The event saw a colourful variety of cultural programmes, including the performance of Rajasthani folk songs and dances. A contingent of the state police paraded smartly while the band played a number of martial tunes. The chief guest unfurled the tricolour and the rousing chorus of our National Anthem was sung by a choir from assorted schools of the city.
