The poet is telling about people’s blind faith in religious authorities. The poet expresses his views through the example of clocktowers. People take the time told by clocktowers to be exact. But due to the differences in their manufacturing or the ways of gongs being beaten, they always tell different time. In the same way, people who preach religion do this job as per their own understanding of religion. They preach what they understand. Thus they all preach religion in different lights. This confuses and misguides people. Thus clocktowers are a symbol of confusing religious preachings.
कवि धर्माधिकारियों पर लोगों के अन्धे विश्वास के बारे में बता रहा है। कवि घण्टाघरों के माध्यम से अपने विचार व्यक्त करता है.। लोग घण्टाघरों द्वारा बताये गये समय को बिल्कुल ठीक मानते हैं। लेकिन उनके निर्माण के तरीके के घड़ियालों को पीटे जाने के तरीके में अन्तर के कारण वे हमेशा अलग-अलग समय बताते हैं। इसी प्रकार सभी धर्मोपदेशक धर्म का उपदेश धर्म की उनकी अपनी-अपनी समझ के अनुसार देते हैं। वे वही उपदेश देते हैं जो वे स्वयं समझते हैं। इस प्रकार वे सब धर्म का अलग-अलग दृष्टिकोण से उपदेश देते हैं। इससे लोग भ्रमित और गलत निर्देशित होते हैं। इस प्रकार घण्टाघर भ्रमित करने वाले धार्मिक उपदेशों के प्रतीक हैं।
