Krishna in the Gita exhorts Arjuna to fare forward i.e. move towards whatever lies before you and behave accordingly. He advises Arjuna to act on the spur of the moment and that to do his duty without any thought about the result. But Sen favours the position of faring well. He says that wherever you go, you should behave well according to the situation. He gives the voyager freedom to choose his way. But in Krishna’s preaching, the voyager i.e. the listener is bound to go forward. Also, while ‘faring forward’ involves performance of duty regardless of consequences; ‘faring well’ calls for consideration of results of one’s actions, even when done in course of duty.
