Bhagwat Singh ji’s wife is an ideal mother-in-law. Though she herself had lived under a strict mother-in-law, yet she never let the strictness come in her behaviour. Even when Geeta came to the haveli as a bride and her close relatives criticised her, she always defended her. She allowed her very little time to stay with the outside women. Nevertheless she loved Geeta and respected her thoughts.
भगवत सिंह जी पत्नी एक आदर्श सास है। यद्यपि वे स्वयं एक कठोर सास के नीचे रही परन्तु उन्होंने अपने व्यवहार में कठोरता नहीं आने दी। उस समय भी जब हवेली में दुल्हन बन कर आयी और उसके निकट रिश्तेदारों ने उसकी आलोचना की, तब उन्होंने हमेशा उसका पक्ष लिया। उन्होंने उसे बहुत समय के लिये बाहर की स्त्रियों के बीच बैठने नहीं दिया। फिर भी वे गीता से स्नेह करती थीं तथा उसके विचारों का सम्मान करती थीं।
