Friends, prayer is an individual’s direct and intimate communion with God. There is nothing very complex or elaborate in a prayer. It can be performed wordless and without any rituals or set format. Prayer elevaters the soul and cleanses the mind. It helps you resist temptations and fight such strong proclivities like greed, anger, lust and jealousy. Prayer is an ennobling experience. You become an intrincic part of the entire universe and transcend your body while praying. Prayer does not distinguish between age, physical possessions, caste or creed.
Every human being is an essential part of that absolute divine power and hence exists only – through that communion with the creator, which we call prayer. Prayer gives us strength and hope in adversity. Prayer helps us remain humble and watchful in prosperity. Prayer helps us become better human beings and brings us peace, insight, gratefulness and purity of mind and body.
So, the next time you pray, do it with all sincerity and joy, for you are speaking to your maker.
