Required sum,

= (x – 3y + 4z) + (y – 2x – 8z) + (5x – 2y – 3z)

Collecting like terms,

= x – 2x + 5x – 3y + y – 2y + 4z – 8z – 3z

Adding like terms,

= (1 – 2 + 5)x + (- 3 + 1 – 2)y + (4 – 8 – 3)z

= 4x – 4y – 7z
