Given eq. are 2x - 3y = 5 .....(i)

3x + 2y = 1 ....(ii)

Multiplying 1 eg.(i) by 3 and eg. (ii) by 2 we get

Put the value of y in eg. (i) we get

2x - (3) × (-1) = 5

2x + 3 = 5

⇒ 2x = 5 - 3

⇒ 2x = 2

⇒ x = 1

∴ x = 1, y = 1
