If a point C lies between two points A and B such that AC = BC, then prove that AC = 1/2 AB. Explain by drawing the figure.

According to the given statement, the figure will be as shown alongside in which the point C lies between two points A and B such that AC = BC. 

Clearly, AC + BC = AB 

⇒ AC + AC = AB [∵AC = BC] 

⇒ 2AC = AB 

 And, AC = 1/2 AB
