Best answer

Let required point is P(x, y)

Given AP = 3/7AB ……(i)

But PB = AB – AP

= AB – 3/7AB

= (7AB - 3AB)/7

PB = 4/7AB ……(ii)

From equation (i) and (ii)

AP : PB = 3/7AB : 4/7AB

AP : PB = 3 : 4

∴ Hence point P divides point A and B in the ratio 3 : 4 respectively.

∴ Hence co-ordinate of point P.

Hence co-ordinate of point P = (-2/7, -20/7)
