All of us need to complain about something or other. We can make complaints rudely or in a polite way. Some of the polite ways of introducing complaints are as follows :

हम सभी किसी एक चीज या दूसरी चीज के बारे में शिकायत करते रहते हैं। हम शिकायत असभ्य या विनम्र तरीके से कर सकते हैं। शिकायत करने के विनम्र तरीके नीचे दिये गये हैं :

(a) Sorry, but…. (you’re shouting at me).

(b) I’m sorry to say this, but….

(C) I’m really sorry to trouble you, but….

(d) I regret to bring to your notice ….

How will you make complaints in the following situations ?

आप निम्न परिस्थितियों में किस प्रकार शिकायत करेंगे ?

(i) Your brother and sister are preparing for a competitive examination. Your neighbour’s children play music very loudly till midnight. Complain to your neighbour.

(ii) The passenger sitting next to you in the bus keeps smoking non-stop. The smoke makes you feel sick. Complain to the Conductor.

(i) 1. Sorry, but your children play music very loudly till midnight.

2. I am sorry to say this, but your children play music very loudly till midnight.

3. I’m really sorry to trouble you, but your children play music very loudly till midnight.

(ii) 1. Sorry, but my co-passenger is smoking non-stop.
