When 1-bromo propane reacts with sodium in the presence of ether, n-hexane is formed.

IUPAC name of product ⇒ Hexane
When 2-bromopropane reacts with sodium in the presence of ether, 2, 3-dimethyl butane is obtained.

IUPAC name of product ⇒ 2,3-dimethyle butane
