Characteristics of summer season are as follows:
1. The summer season starts when the sun starts moving towards the north.
2. During this season, winds blow from sea to land.
3. During summer, temperature in North India is more than that of the southern coastal regions.
4. The condition of low atmospheric pressure is seen in North India, while there is high atmospheric pressure visible in southern coastal areas.
5. In this season, dusty, dry and hot winds blow in the North – Western India which are known as “Loo”.
6. Often, there is some rainfall with strong winds and shower in North India.
7. Such rain is called Kal Baisakhi in West Bengal. In Kerala and Karnataka, it is called Mango Shower or Cherry Blossoms.
