Superstitions
Superstitions are based on ignorance. The best way to remove them is to educate people and give them light of reason.
Superstitions are unreasoned and irrational beliefs of the people living in the past or in present age.
In old primitive times, superstitions governed the majority of the people. They prevailed because the growth of civilization and science had not lighted the darkness of ignorance. Lack of scientific and philosophical advancement provides a suitable ground for superstitions to grow and prevail. Undue respect for old traditions is another cause which makes people superstitious in ideas. The priests have their own role in prepetuating superstitions in the field of religion.
Superstitions affect our actions even today. Number 13, is considered ominous by some. A cat crosses our path and we are put off. Some diseases are attributed to the anger of certain gods etc.
Superstitions make us narrow-minded and retard the growth of science and reason. A rational approach to irrational beliefs alone can make them disappear.
अंधविश्वास
अंधविश्वास अज्ञानता पर आधारित होते हैं। इनको दूर करने का श्रेष्ठ उपाय है, लोगों को शिक्षित करना तथा उन्हें तर्क की रोशनी प्रदान करना।
अंधविश्वास वर्तमान एवं अतीत के लोगों के तर्कहीन विश्वासों को कहते हैं।
प्राचीन समय में अंधविश्वास बहुसंख्यक लोगों पर नियंत्रण करते थे। ये इसलिए प्रचलित थे क्योंकि विज्ञान एवं सभ्यता की उन्नति ने अज्ञानता के अंधेरे को दूर नहीं किया था। वैज्ञानिक एवं दार्शनिक उन्नति का अभाव अंधविश्वासों की वृद्धि एवं प्रचलन के लिए उपयुक्त आधार प्रदान करता है। प्राचीन परम्पराओं के प्रति अत्यधिक आदर भी लोगों को वैचारिक दृष्टि से अंधविश्वासी बनाता है। पुजारी लोग धर्म के क्षेत्र में अंधविश्वासों को बनाये रखने में अपनी भूमिका अदा करते हैं।
अंधविश्वास आज भी हमारे कार्यों को प्रभावित करते हैं। 13 की संख्या कुछ लोगों द्वारा अपशकुन मानी जाती है। एक बिल्ली हमारा रास्ता काट देती है और हम परेशान हो जाते हैं। कुछ बीमारियों को कुछ देवी-देवताओं के क्रोध का परिणाम समझ लिया जाता है।
अंधविश्वास हमें संकीर्ण मस्तिष्क वाला बनाते हैं तथा विज्ञान एवं तर्क के विज्ञान में बाधक बन जाते हैं। अतार्किक विश्वासों के प्रति तार्किक दृष्टिकोण ही इन्हें लुप्त कर सकता है।
