Best answer

1.4532 ÷ 112

Therefore quotient = 40

Remainder = 52 Steps:

(i) 4 ÷ 1, Quotient digit = 4,

Remainder digit = 0

(ii) New Dividend = 05

Dividend adjusted = 5 – 4 x 1 = 1

(iii) 1 ÷ 1, Quotient digit = 1,

Remainder = 0

(iv) New dividend = 13

Dividend adjusted

= 13 – (2 x 4 + 1 x 0)

= 13 – 8 = 5

(v) 5 ÷ 1, Quotient digit = 5,

Remainder = 0

(vi) Last remainder = 2

2.1234 ÷ 42

Therefore quotient = 29 and remainder = 16
