Three squares are joined together as shown in Fig. Their sides are 4cm, 10cm and 3cm. Find the perimeter of the figure.

We know that, perimeter of figure = sum of all sides

= AB + BC + CD + DE + EF + FG + GH + HI + JI +JA

= 4 + 4 + (10 – 4) + 10 + (10 – 3) + 3 + 3 + 3 + 10 + 4

= 4 + 4 + 6 + 10 + 7 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 10 + 4

= 54 cm
