Best answer

Length of one piece

= Perimeter of the square

= 4 × 2 cm = 8 cm

Let the number of pieces be n.

We have given, total area of n squares = 28 cm2

⇒ n (side)2 = 28

⇒ n (2)2 = 28

⇒ n ×  4 = 28

⇒ n = 28/4 = 7

The original length of the wire

= Number of pieces × length of one piece

= 7 × 8 cm = 56 cm
