Tourism is going away from home for thrill, relaxation, fun and frolic, joy along with experiencing something new. Every person gets tired of doing routine functions of the same kinds in the same situations and gets bored. This tiredness decreases his interest in his work, makes him careless and unconcerned, and his working efficiency decreases. This is why, in order to perform his work sincerely and to the fullest of his ability, he wants to have a change of scene and some entertainment, so that he can work proficiently after resuming his job. The general meaning of tourism is going on a trip from one place to another or undertaking a journey. Journeying or going out has existed in India’s cultural heritage since ancient times.

Components of Tourism:

1. Transport –

Transport facility is an important component without which the traveller cannot reach his/her destination. The more frequent and speedy the transport medium is, the more will be the movement of the tourists.

2. Location –

For the selection of tourism destination by the tourists, the attraction of the location, i.e. historical buildings, gardens, sanctuaries, natural scenery, beauty, manmade special places, museum and special benefits to travellers given by the hosts, rebates, discounts, etc., play a very important role.

3. Accommodation –

The most important thing for tourists after reaching the destination is the facility of lodging for rest-relaxation. This facility, according to the needs of the tourists at the location, like, star hotels, budget hotel, clubhouse, youth hostel or paying guest house, etc. is very important.

4. Fun and Food –

To enjoy, please the senses, have fun, and taste different food preparations, the presence of various kinds of restaurants, eateries, casinos, amusement parks, theme parks, clubs, musical shows, etc. is essential to make tourism attractive.

5. Finance –

A lot of money is spent on tourism, which ordinary people expend from their savings. However, with the changes in conceptual ideas and business over time, now savings are not necessary for tourism.

6. Visa –

In international tourism, the permission of the host country (VISA) is required. In this global age, every country is attracted by the income and business from tourism and is forging treaties and agreements with other countries to fulfill the need for prior permission.

7. Travel Agency –

The travel agency and tour operators undertake the responsibility of providing all such necessities required by tourists from the instant they leave their homes for their destination to the time they return home, in time and at low cost along with certainty.
