Description of the Northern Plain: The Northern plain is stretched in bow-shape between the Himalayan mountain and the Southern plateau. It is about 2400 km long and its area is about 7 lakh sq km. This plain also known as the Sutluj-Ganga-Brahmaputra plain covers the parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, North Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand.
