Let us take an example of Rajasthan state to understand the formula of population growth rate.

1. Population of Rajasthan in 2011- 68548437.

2. Population of Rajasthan in 2001 56507188.

3. Difference between the periods i.e. 2011 and 2001 = 10 years

Population Growth Rate = \(\frac{6854873 -56507188}{56407188} \times 100\)

Thus, population growth rate of Rajasthan in a decade i.e. 10 years is = 21.31%.
