Functions of fibers:

1. Fibers help in digestion.

2. Due to fibers, food particles do not stick to the intestine.

3. Roughage absorbs poisonous substances and water is produced during digestion.

4. Roughage absorbs glucose in the body which maintains balance of sugar in the body. This decrease the risk of diabetes.
