Describe merits and demerits of parliamentary system.

Merits :

• Merits in this administrative system, executive is a part of legislative and both are independent in their respective domains 
• In this administrative system, responsibility is on government structure 
• There are representations of all the sections of the country 
• In this system, government cannot be  tyrannical. 

Demerits : 

• In this administrative system, there is a sense of instablity in the event of coalition government 
• In this system, the government cannot implement long form policies in the wake of its duration being uncertain
• In the light of full majority in Parliament, a fear of the cabinet being tyrannical looms 
• This administrative system is against the principle of power- division.
