Power, irrigation, roads, railway, post office, education, health and banking are studied under basic infrastructure. From the point of view of Relative Development Index of infrastructure, Rajasthan stands at the 14th position.
This can be explained through the following points :
1. Per capital consumption of power in Rajasthan was 927.40 Kilowatt per hour in 2011-12, which is quite low from Gujarat’s 1663.20.
2. The roads of Rajasthan are not up to the mark in comparison to other states.
3. The literacy ratio of species and the tribes in the state has been found to be significantly low.
4. Development is significantly taking place in the field of banking.
